My Seiko Sports watch was stolen from my checked in baggage, What can I do ?

I flew on American Airlines flight 343 from Dallas Fort Worth to San Francisco on April 21, 2009. My Seiko Sports watch worth $675.00 was stolen by security personnel from checked in baggage, How can I recover my loss?
The bag had a – baggage being opened for security check – note on it. Also the baggage was unlocked for inspection when checked in.
